After reaching Koyambedu → Kelambakkam New bus stand (private bus) → Kumbakonam.

Accommodation: (important)

Stay, you must decide: That is really important.

Season time: October to March
Festival time: mid-February (The dates for the annual Hampi Utsav are not fixed year-round). Before comes check online for the exact date.

Solo trip perspective :

If you're traveling solo, you won't stay in a hotel. I am making the wrong decision in staying in hotels.

I am taking a room in Hospet near the bus stand, so I feel it's the center, so it's good for me. But, after some days going north hampi I feel I missed the biggest opportunity to stay in the Hunt House inside a very rural village, more distance from hosepet around 40km. They have a beautiful cafe + stay in a lake view. Also, they have a rental bike.

Before going to book online, take a direct call and ask something about the place, and ask your questions. Most guest houses only take online bookings.  very low, only takes offline booking. (Non-season time, some guest houses are not open during this time.)

If you want this type of stay, you need to enter the village first, without searching for any rooms in hosepet.

You see a long list of beautiful stays, a guest house with different beautiful view angles. That list also has a third-party travel agency website with some good listings.

This is only for solo travelers...

Family trip perspective :

If you are coming with middle-aged and senior citizens. Be careful because that place is safe, but we don't know what happened. From my point of view, there are a lot of stones here. So, if they tried to walk somewhere in that village side, they did not feel comfortable.

And another thing is, before booking an aunt's room, ask them to send a non-AC room or an AC room current date video. Not previously taken a video. Sometimes, the family did not feel comfortable without hygienic conditions. Also, confirm how many kilometers hospitals and medical shops are available nearby. Those are much more important to know. Also, take care of a small medical kit.

Another thing is, don't come in the summertime, March and July are very hot. After winter starts also, both seasons are dangerous for middle-aged people and senior citizens. Keep everything u have relevant; think care depends on the season.

Couples' trip perspective :

There are a lot of places here. You can visit the boating side and the lake side view. Also, boating only has a season time available. Non-seasonal time is not available.

Also, Popular romantic and sightseeing spots include watching the sunrise from Matanga Hill, taking a coracle ride on the Tungabhadra River, and cycling around the ancient ruins.

hampi couple friendly hotels

Important Details for Your Stay

Choose "Couple-Friendly" Properties: Many resorts and hotels actively welcome unmarried couples. Look for the "Couple Friendly" tag or filter when using booking apps.

Call to Confirm: It is highly recommended to call your chosen hotel or resort directly before booking. While most properties allow unmarried couples, a few conservative or family-run guesthouses may have their own internal policies against it.

Booking Filters: Many hotels and resorts welcome unmarried couples. To ensure a hassle-free check-in, apply the "Couple Friendly" filter when booking on platforms like MakeMyTrip or Goibibo.

Homestays: While traditional hotels are generally fine, local homestays in Hampi sometimes have conservative policies. Always call ahead to confirm their check-in policy for unmarried couples to avoid last-minute surprises.

Overall, I have shared important information about staying with Hampi. I shared different types of travelling people, and also keep this in mind.
